The Tale Of Kitsuna

Chapter 57

“Under the ice guru tree,” I said, pointing at the tree in the back.

“But isn’t that where that fox sleeps at night?” Sirone said with fear.

“Yes,” I said, hiding my grin.

“Don’t worry, your big sis will cut that fox up in a million pieces if it thinks about touching you,” Brenda said with confidence making Sirone blush.

‘These two are going to be a handful.’ Apricot and I thought cross eyes with each other.

“It will be fine. She won’t do anything to you, Sirone,” I said.

“How sure are you about that?” Apricot ask this time.

.....

“You will have to wait for tomorrow to see,” I said, standing up.

“What are we supposed today for the rest of the day?” Brenda ask.

“I don’t know. Go on a date with your sister or something.” I said, waving them off.

“Aah, that isn’t a good idea, thank you,” Brenda said, taking the blushing Sirone away by hand.

“Those two might be annoying in the future,” Apricot said with a sigh.

“Probably, but it is kind of entertaining to see how dense Brenda is,” I said, snickering.

“Don’t tell me your into those kinds of relationships,” Apricot said, looking at me with a deep frown.

“You mean like incest?” I said, perplexed. Seeing her nod, I made an ice staff in my hand, hit her over the head, and shouted. “Hell no, I might be into girls, but family relationships still have their boundaries!?”

“Owie, that’s why you only have girls in this squad. You want to make a harem. I got to say you’re doing a bad job. You already lost 2 people to each other.” Apricot said humorously.

“It just worked out like that, and I don’t want a harem. It is way too much work to satisfy more than one person.” I said, hitting her a couple more times.

“Master, you so abusive,” Apricot said, rubbing her sore spots with a pout.

“And whose fault is that doggie,” I said, annoyed.

“Stop calling me doggie,” Apricot said, annoyed.

“No, come, let’s go meet Trinity,” I said, walking off.

“Why her?” Apricot said, confused but still followed behind me.

“She is going to teach us how to use wires properly, or more like I will be asking her to do that,” I said, walking toward the forest.

“I understand for me, but why you?”

“It’s for my mastery of weapons,” I said eagerly.

“Ooh, so you want to use string weapons or make them?” Apricot said.

“Both, I also want to learn how to make traps,” I said, a bit surprised she figure it out.

“Not a bad idea,” Apricot said, nodding.

“Yup, and the best part it works with my fox nature.”

“Fox nature?”

“Don’t worry,” I said, smiling at her.

(30 minutes later)

“You want me to do what?” Trinity asks, confused, sitting at her desk between mountains of paperwork.

“I want you to teach Apricot how to use wires properly. You don’t have to worry. I will be there the entire time to keep her under control.” I said with an innocent face.

‘What why are you using the roundabout way to ask her to teach you!?’ Apricot thought hearing what I said.

“Yeah, I heard that, but why should you be there as well?” Trinity said, looking between Apricot and me.

“Because I am her master, and as her master, I must keep her under control,” I explain with confidence.

“That isn’t needed. Remember, I am a higher level than her and by a lot.” Trinity said, a bit annoyed.

“But she can catch you off guard,” I said.

“The more you talk, the more it sounds you don’t trust me at all,” Apricot said, annoyed from behind me.

“Doggie shhh.”

“Ah, I see you also want to learn how to use wires right. Why didn’t you say that from the beginning? It makes everything so much easier, but in exchange, you show me how to preserve a corpse for puppeteering.” Trinity said, smiling. Nodding, she stood up, she shouted. “Brad, get in here!?”

“Trinity, this is a warning for the future, but please don’t shout like that or warn me at least. My ears are really sensitive.” I said, holding my ears.

“Noted. Now, Brad, you are taking up my duties until I am done okay.” She said, looking at the slim guy that just walked into the office.

“But Commanding Major, what are you going to do?” He said, frowning.

“I was asked to do something for the house. So you have no say in this. Do the work, understood.” Trinity said, walking out of the office, leaving a depressed Brad behind, looking at the pile of paperwork.

“Good luck, Brad,” I said, following behind Trinity. Apricot gave a small prayer to him before following us.

“So, am I only going to teach you two?” Trinity said.

“Yes, before we go, can I get more restrainers,” I ask, confusing her.

“Why?” Trinity said, looking back at me, doubtful.

“I am going to use them tomorrow for my squad. Do you have ones that can only block people’s levels,” I said.

“I do, and from when do you have a squad. Didn’t you just arrive here like 2 days ago?” Trinity said, perplexed.

“From this morning, and can I have 10 of those restrainers,” I said, smiling innocently.

“You work fast,” Trinity said, nodding.

“Meh, if you think so. About your request, though. I will have to find the materials first before I could show you.” I said, shrugging.

“That’s fine, just remember you owe me one,” She said, winking at me.

“Of course,” I said, with a wry smile.

(4 hours later)

“Thank you, Trinity. I will be sending Apricot every day to you for a couple of hours.” I said, waving to Trinity.

“Huh? You’re not joining the next training session?” Trinity asks, confused.

“Yes, Stacy is my master, so there are some rules about me training with other people,” I said, rubbing the back of my head.

“Stacy is your master? That must be hard.” Trinity said, showing me pity.

“Nah, I like training with her,” I said, beaming.

“You monster,” Trinity said, looking me like I was crazy.

“Thanks for the compliment,” I said, confusing her.

“That wasn’t a compliment. Whatever, but what do you mean by rules, though.”

“I am only allowed to be trained by another person in my free time, and their sessions are not allowed to be more than an hour. Before you say, but we just did 4 hours. I am taking a week of her training to get used to the capital. In other words, I can do what I want for a week. After this week, I am going to use my free time on my own squad.” I explain.

“I see, okay, then I will see you tomorrow again, Apricot,” Trinity said before leaving us on the training grounds.

“So what are we going to do for the rest of the day,” Apricot asks, standing next to me.

“I need to find a Kayda to ask her how to learn proper mana control,” I said, walking out of the training grounds.

“Should I join you?”

“You don’t have to. You can go back to your room or do anything you want to.” I said, shrugging.

“I think I would go and try to get some shut-eye. Aah shit, I forgot to ask your father where our squads’ barracks are.” Apricot said, facepalming.

“I will just call Mom and ask. Oh, and don’t call him my father, please. Just call him commander Draig.” I said, taking my scroll out and called mom.

After sorting Apricot out and going to their barracks to know the location, I went on a searching fit to find Kayda. For 3 hours, you could see me walking around the mansion grounds looking around. I didn’t know how I looked from another person’s perspective. Because I walked by the garden, the main gate, and a couple of places multiple times. I even tried to find her sent, but I forgot how she smelled.

There was one good thing about me walking around so much. I learn the entire layout of the mansion and forest at the back. The only place I didn’t really touch was the barracks and training grounds of the black ops. I just simply didn’t think she would be there teaching Amari.

While walking to the garden once more, I started to hear flapping in the air. Looking up, I saw a humanoid bird shadow coming down toward me at high speed.

“What the fuck!?” I said in surprise and stepped back.
